I wanted to reach out to all my new fans and say hello! I’m so excited for you all to be here and that the buzz about The Defender is already starting.
Here is a bit of background on the first book of the Gatlin Series;
- The main character, Alexia Harmon, is loosely based on myself. Her family dynamics and mental state reflect my own. I really needed a character that I could relate to, so I went ahead and made one for myself.
- The majority of the characters in the book are named after someone I know or a name that my four-year-old daughter invented. Anytime I was faced with the challenge of creating an alien name, I would turn to her for help. She was always able to think of a strange name in under 10 seconds, with very little effort.
- The weapons used by Alexia are all based on my husband’s 3D designs. A model of each weapon has been printed and assembled by him and now sit in our basement for us to marvel at. Don’t worry, I’ll share another blog dedicated to his inventions.
